https://www.cnbc.com/2024/11/13/dog...department-of-government-efficiency-doge.html So forget the crypto reference here, I just want to discuss this new department. Vivek is a very smart guy, and I consider Elon to be a grifter. If anything, Elon loves using government money, so I'm not sure if these two will even be a good fit to work together. In my opinion, every subsidy that Elon has ever taken from the taxpayer is a waste, and hence the complete opposite of government efficiency. Now I do understand that cutting regulation will be a great headwind for businesses, but the overall idea behind this department will I think be a total bomb initially. Don't get me wrong, reducing the size of the government and government spending is paramount to a prosperous future, but you can't turn it off like a light switch. Too much of the GDP right now comes directly from government spending. If they magically cut out the $2T of deficit spending, I'm not sure if there is going to be enough slack taken up by the private sector in order to balance out the lost government spending. So in my opinion, the first thing that a reduction in government spending would do is collapse the economy. Eventually people keep more of their earnings, and prices of things will come down, since I fully believe most of the inflation is caused by reckless government spending, but the balance point is far away from where we are.
Symbol for efficiency is : I guess Vivek & Elon will use a logo similar to the one shown above for Department of Government Efficiency. I am sure those smart guys will think out of the box. Can they achieve > 90% efficiency? But then how to measure Federal efficiency? Be Efficient!
If most of your weight gain is caused primarily by an increase in consumption of calories, then it must be that a reduction in your overall calorie consumption will be a significant factor in your weight loss. In other words, one action implies the corresponding effect. Less calories implies less weight gain, and even fewer calories implies real weight loss. Less government spending implies less economic output. It's a comprehensive system that eventually reaches homeostasis, regardless of the mechanisms to manipulate it along the timeline. Likewise, eventually the economic system must maintain a certain level of balance, regardless of the tweaks that are applied gently along the way. And if it doesn't achieve that balance, then a superior system takes it's place, AKA Bitcoin, which is why we've seen that monetary system go from zero to $90k per coin in a blink of an eye. What you're doing is a valid thought experiment. Very few get to this level.
Elon and Vivek will cut the entire gov't in half. The deep state was too scared to steal 2024, Elon wants to give them 2 years severance money. This is really happening, how do you play something like that? You cut taxes and spending at the same time. You can't interrupt the money flow, so it's up to the private sector to do the right thing with massive tax cuts. Corporate revenue will crash but with massive tax cuts their earnings are good enough.
Thank-you. Its quite the compliment coming from you! I think the critical thing to understanding Bitcoin, which isn't talked about enough, is the basis of Jeff Booth's book, The Price of Tomorrow. If we are to believe that the world is in fact deflationary, which I fully believe it is, then a currency and system must match this natural force. Prices should be going down because of technological improvements, and yet the fiat system requires prices to always keep going higher. Its truly remarkable to see this play out, and I'm hopeful that within this decade, the collapse will be obvious to most people.
40percent of our government expenditure is transfer payments. (About 4 trillion). 10percent is military (about 1 trillion). Without touching transfer payments (seniors love to vote) and the military (wouldn’t be very Republican), you have to cut 40percent of the rest. I think this is an opportunity for Trump to play favorites and execute some graft. For example by spinning off government entities to donors. NOAA goes to the weather channel.
