This was brought to my attention today. Earlier this week I capped gains. I settled for $1100 on Monday when I could have made $6000 if I held until end of day. Wednesday I settled for $3000 when I could have made $7000. So I'm good at limiting my gains. Now I need to learn to limit losses. I'm stuck holding SPXS that's already lost $10,000 because I now want to wait to see if it reverses. I wasn't planning to hold it longer than today, but the market did opposite of what I thought. It doesn't make sense to set limits at a dollar amount because you should theoretically have same limit points whether you bought $100 worth or $10,000,000 worth. But I capped my gains based on being content with a dollar amount, so I know I should adjust that strategy also.
