Hi. I noticed that sometimes my daily P&L will go up but the excess liquidity will go down. Does someone know why this could be happening? Thank you.
I could be talking through my hat here, as I don't have to deal with this... but it could be the broker is adjusting your liquidity because of it's revising margin requirement due to volatility.
Just saw this in another thread: if you have a long and ITM option position that increases in profit, it will also carry a concomitent increase of finishing ITM -- and they're poking your account to insure that you have the capital available to cover your "bet." (Regardless of your intentions to cover, to exit beforehand, to.... whatever.)
Hey. Thanks for your input. I only trade stocks, but some of them have high margin requirements particularly for short positions. So maybe that's what is going on in my case.
