Hahahah. Well the Cubbies won. Time to change the avatar again. For lack of a better one, we'll go back to the original Zandy for now. Back in the day when you got "likes" and they were "added" to your total. Not sure what happened, but the other day I had 284 and today I have 281.... must have been my post about the dude that had three posts and three likes but none of the posts had likes. hahahah... whatever.... Don't piss off Magna. OK.... back to the matter at hand. The world is going to keep on spinning. Despite the doom sayers down in P&R. Who knows what kind of BS will happen Tuesday. Maybe nothing. But the fact remains, and albeit this is painfully obvious, I don't think its adequately reflected in the market yet. Cyber warfare is going to be like tanks and airplanes. It has to be. My thesis here is that the smaller unheard of players are going to get scooped up by the likes of Boeing and M Marietta. I don't know what the players are in this field yet, Zandy is typing from the hip here, but there wil be more to follow. There's day trades, and there are long term trends. This is one for the long term game. All you geeks out there should find the off the radar publicly traded beasts in cyber security and post your ideas here so we can all do well. I'll work on it on my end, but you can mark this post. Cyber security is going to explode WAY more than it has already. Find the best of breed off the radar publicly traded players... and share. Zandy out.
No, not really. Not a big fan of the etf's like that. But its components are a good place to hunt for candidates.Looking for individual companies with unique niches.

Heya Zandy, I'm right there on page with you, and have been looking at the same thing. Some analysts have said that the security boom has happened, and there's no longer the "binge spending" that we saw a couple years back, but I think that there's still money to be made. I just listened to the Symantec earnings call, and gleaned a lot of good info. Anyway, the specialized security players are: Palo Alto Networks (nyse: PANW) Checkpoint (nasdaq: CHKP) Symantec (nasdaq: SYMC) Of course, the 800lb gorillas (IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon etc.) are all doing some kind of security. Biometric and 2nd-factor authentication seem to be relevant now. Vasco data security (nasdaq: VDSI) seems like a good candidate for a buyout, but this is just an opinion; I'm not a tipster, and I haven't really looked closely at them. https://www.vasco.com/ Sincerely, Keith :^)
That's the stuff, while everyone is talking about marijuana, the smart money are paying attention to cyber security.
"there is time to be born there is to die" "there is time to reap. there is a time to sow" marijuana stock went from under 10 cents (no typo) to over $240 during the marijuana back to under .10. cyber-security is old hat but may have legs.
Well, security has been a primary concern for most (if not all) societies for thousands of years, and it will continue to be until we have all learned to live in peace and perfect harmony.
Unfortunately, there's no money in peace and harmony. There should be, ....but there's not. Where the rubber meets the road, .... we are lightyears from being civilized. The flip side of that coin is, most of the technology we enjoy has its roots in spending money on self destruction. Beyond me. Gene Roddenberry got it right.
Yeah... a history-buff friend of mine noted that we name our ages after our weapons: Stone age: arrowheads made of stone Bronze age: Swords made of bronze Atomic age: Nuclear bombs Information age: Weapons of news, data, encryption, and messaging.
