Hi guys, I am coming back to trading and I am pretty sure I had this watchlist in my TWS when I last used it many years back, but do not seem to be able to set it up now... I want to watch the S&P 100 stocks using custom technical indicators. Can I add a column with a custom indicator? Like SMA(33) or RSI (21)? Also, if I want to add the S&P 100 stocks to my Watchlist, do I really have to add them manually one by one? Is there no way to add this group to a watchlist with a few clicks? PS: I am not too sure about the difference between watchlist and scanner. It seems that scanner is just a watchlist with a filter applied. Either would work for me if I could specify values to filtr by for a specific technical indicator. Thank you.
GOOD NEWS !!! and / or BAD NEWS !!!! the best indicator is the invisible one. The market moves in various fashion/manner/speed/acceleration/deceleration/pattern/behaviour .... So Indicators are a nuisance. Indicators started to be very popular when the computers were widely available, and many people wanted more and more indicators due to whatever reasons. Thank you for your attention.
Welcome back to trading! I am not familiar with TWS. I use E*Trade and that is where I maintain my watchlist. As far as I can tell, the stocks must be added individually. Perhaps you can use an existing list: https://www.barchart.com/stocks/indices/sp/sp100 Your watchlist is used to monitor and track the performance of stocks you are interested in. A scanner provides real-time price and other details about your stocks. A screener sorts through all the stocks and provides results based on your criteria. For example if you want to find all stocks that have increased by 15% since yesterday, a screener will sort those out for you. Good Luck!
