Lately and for the first time I think Cruz has a chance to win this... and I think the media realizes it too. Although his wife worked at Goldman... he may be one of the unique talents out there who could fix this broken crony run system. Here the WaPo publishes a long article... much more a the link. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...1c2724-8a4f-11e5-be8b-1ae2e4f50f76_story.html CONCORD, N.H. — Sen. Ted Cruz stood outside the New Hampshire state capitol Thursday morning, moments after filing papers to qualify for next year’s first-in-the-nation presidential primary. Coatless against a cold drizzle, he delivered a fiery call to arms to the enthusiastic supporters gathered around him and beyond. “We’re seeing conservatives in New Hampshire and nationally unite,” he said. “We’re seeing the liberty movement coming together. . . . Let me tell you, what is happening on these steps in New Hampshire scares the living daylights out of Washington.” It was an exhortation by a politician on the rise in the competition for the Republican nomination. Two outsiders with no political experience, Donald Trump and Ben Carson, continue to lead the GOP field. But in the year of the outsider, the freshman senator from Texas who has made his mark defying the political elites believes that, ultimately, he can be the beneficiary of the virulent anti-Washington mood that has shaped this pre-election year. And as unlikely as his path might have seemed a few months ago, Cruz’s rise in the polls and his formidable war chest represent an additional threat to the establishment that is not going unnoticed. During a lengthy interview as he returned to his hotel after a long day of campaigning, Cruz offered a detailed explanation of what he views as his path forward — and why he thinks he’ll win. But it is a path strewn with obstacles, opponents and question marks.
LOL! Who told you this? The Jem Algo? Cruz is hated by the media. They're still smarting over the Cat in the Hat filibuster.
no one had to tell me... I just read a long neutral article in the Washington Post of all places. In fact it was much better than neutral... it was journalism. It was an enjoyable piece of journalism... like when I enjoyed reading the paper as a kid or young man... where the piece let the candidate tell his story. I did not get all agitated by spin and slant posing as a fair article. it was fair. did your read the article in the WaPo. that is the signal... it was amazingly non biased and it was in the WaPo at an important juncture. the illegal immigrantion/terrorism tie is likely to be a deal stopper for Hillary and Bernie... so its time to pick someone over Trump. the reasons... maybe they hope with no more terrorism Cruz would lose to rubio or hillary. maybe they just realize he is far better than Trump for them and maybe even us. This does not happen by mistake... a non biased article does not appear randomly. It showed up on Drudge as Balz: How Ted Cruz wins... They knew it would.
The media loved McCain too. They loved him until he was running against an unqualified community organizer who had been mentored by a domestic terrorist. Then they turned on him. They'll do the same with Cruz. Both sides despise him, trust me on that, but some of the political junkie reporters are impressed by his campaign skills. He clearly doesn't fit the media template of "dumb conservative" and that confuses them as well.
Cruz is a tough cookie. Ted Cruz To Obama: 'Come Back And Insult Me To My Face' "It's easy to toss a cheap insult where no one can respond." Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to President Barack Obama a day after he took a not-so-subtle swipe at the Republican presidential hopeful for wanting to shut America's doors to Syria's refugees. Speaking in Turkey and again in the Phillipines earlier this week, Obama chided Republicans for wanting to allow only Christian Syrians, rather than Muslims ones, into the U.S. "At first, they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of three-year-old orphans," the president said. "That doesn't seem so tough to me." Cruz addressed the president's remarks after an event on Capitol Hill, taking issue with what he called "cheap insults" made on foreign soil. "If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries, but come back and insult me to my face," Cruz said. "Let's have a debate on Syrian refugees right now. We can do it anywhere you want....It's easy to toss a cheap insult where no one can respond."
In fairness, Cruz did characterize Obama as a traitor who hated Christians. The fact he can say that about the President of the United States with little media outrage speaks volumes.
There are still enough in people in the media with real and not situational compassion who know that ignoring Christians in the middle east again and again... has enabled evil. Yeah... I indict the neocons here as well. By the way... nice use of the new media attention by Cruz. Him vs Obama, high noon. Where is Obama? Is he going to hide and say he is too busy or attempt to act superior now?
Cruz strategy is brilliant on several levels. It elevates him to presidential level. He hogs the headlines, not Trump. Plus, he is showing republicans that he is not afraid to rumble, unlike our recent candidates.
