Cross currents here... election, Israel war, inflation, recession?... Where does Price TA fit in?

Discussion in 'Technical Analysis' started by Scataphagos, Oct 7, 2024.

  1. Currently the ES is in the middle of a trading range of 5750-5810. So, what should a trader do with this??

Trade "Price TA".. trade with your eyes!!

    1. What USUALLY happens when support is tested and appears to have bounced away from that price?

    2. What USUALLY happens when resistance is tested and appears to have bounced away from that price?

    3. What USUALLY happens when support breaks down and price appears to be accelerating down?

    4. What USUALLY happens when reistance breaks out and appears to be accelerating upwards?

Get your money on the "statistically correct side of these usuals" and you can't possibly lose (black swan, exception) unless you screw up and don't exercise stop discipline.

    FWIW...

  2. Do you mind not making it quite so logical, reasonable and straightforward, please? I’m trying to take money from other traders in the markets (especially in the one you mentioned) but your contributions are probably helping them more than me. :)

  3. No worries... (1) I'm not famous*, so few pay attention to whatever I say, and (2) most people "don't get it" even when it's shoved down their collective throats. :)

*I used to be sort-of famous, way back when ("big fish in a small pond" kind of thing). So, I'm still smart... but my fame has faded into the ether. :)

    You’ve stolen my levels ?! :D

Plus … I’d like to add that it might be a range but it’s a bullish one. Why ? Because it’s a higher low and a higher high !

Therefore the statistics should favor fading bottoms within that range and target the top.
