Having trained several thousand traders during live markets since 2000, I'd appreciate your honest feedback about my training: Note: High number of specific winning calls I traded live Quality of training But yet all of you aren't members.... : p Candidly, what should I do to improve? Good feedback so far from traders has said to show status of open vs closed positions, and talk slower. What else? (I'm not going to trade crap low float under $10 stocks in a sim account and make bs $100,000 phony YouTube videos like competitors do, lol) Skimming through the video, if you were (or are) a stock day trader -- what should I add or do differently? Thanks!
I respect and appreciate your efforts and am happy to provide feedback. Although most of my comments will be critical, my hope is to provide you with ideas that will help you make a good service even better. 1. I feel you need to make a stronger “Credibility statement” that better shows your value to your intended audience. This credibility statement needs to be unambiguous and to the point. Talk about your experience and goals that your audience should identify with. Consider including some customer testimonials at some point in your presentation. 2. The some goes for your product offering, or in this case, you, except here is where you get more specific. What is your “Value add” for your audience? What is it you do that will benefit them in some way? Why should they want use your service and not do it themselves or use a competitor? In short, what make you uniquely special? Perhaps you read news, earnings reports, and economic releases and have developed a method of identifying instruments that will have a greater than average range and that tends to trade more predictably. In this example, your value add is at least saving time or helping to identify trading opportunities with greater potential profitability. 3. Your voice, like the most of us, is thoughtful but seems to lack energy or enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is infectuous and makes things fun for everyone. Enthusiasm make it easier for people to join, while helping keeping people “Addicted” to your service because it is informative and fun. Perhaps standing up while you speak will help. Consider joining Toastmasters, Int’l to improve your skills in organizing your thoughts and communicating your ideas. 4. Promotional videos should be high content and short. By high content, I don’t mean giving away the exact details of your proprietary knowledge, but still offer worthwhile information to your audience whether they use your service or not. The marketing concept employed here is known as “Value in advance”, where people viewing your content are so impressed, they wonder, “If he is giving this for free, what is his paid content like”? Obviously, you will have to be well organized and be able to categorize information levels into tiers. For example, have a public information tier, a unpaid subscriber tier, and a paid subscriber tier. By short, put a hard limit of eight minutes on your promotionsl videos. It forces you to really think about what is important and what is not, thereby increasing the quality of your video. Hopefully these ideas will help and as always, definately appreciate your effort here on ET.
Thanks -- excellent points, especially re speaking with enthusiasm... To clarify, this is a recording of one of my live trading room sessions, hence the length. In contrast, here's the promo spot I appreciate your thoughts, they make sense... thx
You have an impressive background and considerable market knowledge. Traders can ask you questions and get answers by someone who has been and is still there. I liked your second video better, but it still was way too long with a lot of (Sorry) fluff. The many edits were distracting that reduced the power of your presentation. Perhaps this would be where a different camera angle comes in, as in a seemingly planned break, when transitioning between ideas. On YouTube.com, there is a University professor and TEDx speaker who has a series of free videos on public speaking as well as related subjects. If you are so inclined, look up How to Start a Speech by Connor Neill. Note how this speaker uses natural hand gestures, varies his pitch, and adjusts his speaking rates. He conveys a wide range of emotions, making lit easier for his audience to engage with him. You no doubt have the most important aspects of a “Trading education oriented chatroom”, which is depth of knowledge with real time interaction, so maybe I’m being nit-picky. But then again, I am nit-picky!
what would you say is your trading style? if you were to define it by technical terms? reversion to the mean, breakout, techno-fundamental, trend, seat of the pants, etc.?
I would strongly suggest that you consult a marketing expert and make sure your future video's are suitable for 2020. No disrespect but the videos you are making belong in the 90s and early 00s. It would surprise me if many people watch these videos from start to finish. They last way too long and there is too much unnecessary talking going on. Even your promo video is 15 minutes of non stop talking. It should be a few minutes max.
