I'm down 30 pounds since April 1st due to lots of jumping rope , body weight workouts, and a strict diet. I'm pretty lean, but I'd like to get leaner and gain some more muscle mass.

I bought some creatine, and the directions say to load up for the first 3 days of using it. The normal daily dose is 5 grams, but the loading instructions say to take 4 times that amount daily.

I've read some contradictory opinions on loading. Some swear by it, and others say your body can only process one serving per day, and loading is just a waste.

    Any opinions?

I prefer the simpler long-term approach. Just take the daily dose and stay consistent with it.

That would be my first choice. I just took one dose about an hour ago.

  4. Do you still take creatine?

Like most supplements I take, I will run it for a couple of months, and then move onto something else for a while. I'm about ready to start taking creatine again though as it does seem to be one of those supplements that actually has a noticeable effect.

Congrats on that weight loss. 30lbs is no joke. So what has your diet been like?

Basically meats and greens. No bread, no pasta, no sugar, no junk food, very little dairy (not a milk drinker, but I'll occasionally have some cheese), no grains except for some occasional rice or corn, and very few carbs. Potatoes are also on my list of what not to eat. I'll have a cheater day once every couple weeks or so. But I honestly can't remember the last time I had fast food. It's been years.

It was all tough at first, but once I started feeling better and losing weight, it became much easier. And i also learned that humans don't need nearly as much food as most people eat, especially when on a healthy diet. There are so many different types of food out there which aren't fuel for the body at all. And there are lots of choices for healthy food. Grilled boneless chicken breasts sliced over a big bowl of lettuce with red wine vinegar dressing over the top is one of my favorite meals. It is extremely healthy, and I never get tired after a meal like I would after a few big slices of pizza.

Like they say, you can't out exercise a bad diet.

    Thanks Baron!

Take creatine after your workout. You want it to upload into your muscle. Days you don't workout, just take creatine at the same time as the workout days.

Cheater day? What's the point? Every meal you have should be composed of foods you enjoy AND that are conducive to your body recomp. Do this and no need to dream of crap foods you don't eat.

Drink lots of water and recognize headaches may, in a few cases, may be caused by creatine.
Cut back if so....or flush more
