With a B not an M, this is what happens when you have Trillions and Trillions of dollars working its way through the system, thanks to BUBBLE ben bernanke and all those printed trillions....whatsapp is worth no more than $25M....
The hype around a FREE messaging apps should have people waking up and realizing that something is very, very wrong.

FB says they will keep whatsapp separate from FB. Does that mean FB can take whatsapp public and launch an IPO? FB buys whatsapp for $20 Billion, develops the brand then raises $30 Billion in the IPO making $10 Billion on the deal.

If monetizing user stats and habits (spying) is the big money maker here, who is buying it? And why hasn't Facebooks revenue reflected their billion plus users who made available gigabytes of personal data?

Whatsapp, for those that don't know, collects nearly no personal information - name and phone number and picture. The picture and name can be faked. The phone number too, I suppose, with IP wireless telephony. FB can't do it with pages of personal data, so how can Whatsapp do it with a phone number and name?

I thought this was dumb at first, but now I think it was pretty smart.

Apparently goog bid 10bn for whatsapp.

    So Facebook isn't completely retarded.

Facebook has 1.2bn users. Whatsapp has 500mm.

There are 2.5bn people on the internet in the world.

3.6bn texts were sent on New Year's Eve through whatsapp.

Telecom companies figure that whatsapp costs them over 30bn in text messaging fees.

20bn isn't cheap by current valuation but this could be a homerun if Facebook can figure out how to monetize. The scale is massive and in the end there will only be one messaging platform like there is really only one facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Facebooks clout only adds opportunity. Deutsche Telekom is looking to cut some arrangement with whatsapp now.
