The issue with facebook is there is privacy. With craiglist anyone can post and don't have sell your personal information to some company to sell you personal belongs to sell locally. now if craigslist goes public as separate company I would buy the stock. if it's reasonably priced it's a popular private company and not listed in the stock exchange. that says a lot about the stock market. How effective is selling on facebook marketplace or kijji ? craigslist has huge user base yet they don't monetize the site with ads. it's was bought by ebay right? or ebay only owns 10% of it. craigslist is probably one of the underrated websites in the country in terms of usefullness. Craigslist only competition is facebook marketplace. that is it for selling locally. most other online websites don't have critical mass so things sell. and there is a market for it. you list on some sites, no visitors. to the webpage the stock market is like flea market some listed stocks have no buyers or nobody ask for a quote and no interest.
Craigslist now charges $5 payable only by credit card to sell a used car. There goes your privacy theory. Just sayin'....
