Referring to a post by Tony in a different thread, this brings up a hell of a point in my mind...

    "

(Not picking on your statement @Tony Stark , just using it as a reference for my point).

How the hell would people have reacted here in the US if before X-mas, we'd done all this lockdown shit, social distancing, etc? The US population would have laughed in the face of the entire government, and said..."There's a virus in China that looks like the flu? Big deal. But you want to lock us in our homes, shut down the economy, for something that is not here? Suspend international travel? Suspend immigration? 2-week quarantines? Keep us from going to work? Fining us for going outside when we did not have an essential reason to do so? Require us to wear a mask?"

There may have been protests, and maybe even riots, because back then it would have seemed like martial law.

Now, only in hindsight does it seem like we acted too late.

Well, if we acted too early, nobody would have done it, because it would have seemed fascist. Now, it seems we acted too late, so we seem ignorant. (And what if we did this when the very first case was reported in Washington state, in like late January or whenever, a month or two after we heard of this thing happening in China)? There could never have been a middle ground on this, so damned if we did, damned as we didn't.

TESTING. He explicitly stated that it was a hoax and "going to disappear" within a few weeks. Meanwhile Korea was testing 5K/day. 8 weeks of basically zero testing. The dude should never spend a day out of prison.

Can someone please tell dest that if he wishes to engage in a conversation with me, after replying to something I posted, that he should take me off of IGNORE?

Good grief! I can see his entry but no text. So I have to hit "reply" to see the text, or log in anon. Ignore is just the worst feature ever?
