This is a no-shit-Sherlock moment. Get 50 people in close proximity, and have them belt out vocals. What happens when you sing? You EXHALE. What comes out of your throat when you EXHALE to SING? Droplets! Brilliance over there in Washington state, which by the way was the first state to detect a positive like 2 months ago.
Yeah, not the smartest thing to do I guess, but in that article it said they tried to keep a safe distance from each other, and took other precautions. So I doubt they were singing into each others faces. It also stated: "Experts said the choir outbreak is consistent with a growing body of evidence that the virus can be transmitted through aerosols — particles smaller than 5 micrometers that can float in the air for minutes or longer." 45 members out of 60 diagnosed with COVID-19.
It is water under the bridge now I guess. Those of us who survive this zombie apocalypse will look back on this shit and go, "Man, we were such dumbasses for not taking better precautions, and sooner."
"Its just like any other flu. It'll be gone by the beginning of April." -@Buy1Sell2 Hey what is today anyway? 3/31... ? Cool. All's well.
Yeah the part where they say it can be airborne for three hours in a lab and they swabbed the air exhaust outlets and tested positive is pretty scary.
