https://fortune.com/2022/01/04/crypto-banned-china-other-countries/ Crypto is fully banned in China and 8 other countries Nine countries have banned digital currencies outright in recent years, but dozens more have banned it implicitly. BY MARCO QUIROZ-GUTIERREZ January 04, 2022 4:11 PM EST China made big headlines when it banned crypto last year, but it is only one of dozens of countries and jurisdictions that have either banned cryptocurrencies outright or severely restricted it over the past few years. Egypt, Iraq, Qatar, Oman, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Bangladesh, and China have all banned cryptocurrency. Forty-two other countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, and Bolivia, have implicitly banned digital currencies by putting restrictions on the ability for banks to deal with crypto, or prohibiting cryptocurrency exchanges, according to a 2021 summary report by the Law Library of Congress published in November. The number of countries and jurisdictions that have banned crypto either completely or implicitly has more than doubled since 2018, when the organization first published a report on the subject. The grey means it's legal, not no data. They do this to make their story of just a few countries banning Bitcoin seem more legit. And when they say double, it means that maybe 3 countries banned it the first year, then 6 this year, again to make their story seem more legit.
I think 2018 was too early for governments to do anything (good or bad) so of course the percentage change since that time is large.
Yes so there where probably 4 countries in 18 and now 8. Wow! Its gone up 100%!!! We must call CNN immediately! On a brighter note the number of countries that have adopted Bitcoin as a natural currency has also gone up. By how much might you ask? 100% Need i say more?
Many crypto experts say that crypto is experiencing it's early days, so based on that theory, good or bad, yet still may come.
