In the US Democratic debates, the candidates are still trying to outdo each other with free this, free that. Warren is at the top of the list. Like Corbyn, she wants to nationalize everything possible and break up the rest. She wants free healthcare, free education, free shelter. She also wants a wealth tax. In the UK, voters did not believe Corbyn's plan was remotely possible. Ironically, Corbyn decided his 2017 plan was not radical enough. So he made it even more radical. Corbyn and his cronies took control of Labour, will be like the Squad taking control of the Democrat party with say AOC in charge. Corbyn is a Terrorist Loving, Anti Semitic, Marxist. Just like the Squad members. The likes of AOC will take over the Democratic party at some point. But the Americans on the whole have the same good sense as the British and will never let these crazies anywhere near real power. But it is going to be fun to watch them destroy the Democratic party. Just like Corbyn has destroyed the Labour party in the UK.
And when that happens it will be because the lefties have brought in democrats who are even further to the left so that AOC types are then marketed and sold as the moderates. While some of the current commies who are running may never get elected, they do offer cover for the other ones to be able to pretend that they are moderates. Moderate compared to what? Oh, I see. AOC. Otherwise you would have to be Che Guevera to hold some of the positions they have before this campaign cycle.
Corbyn is unable to accept that he was the problem. He is blaming Brexit. And his resignation may not be a resignation at all, he is not actually stepping down. So I doubt that the leftists in the USA will take any lesson from it. My sense is that this is going to get ugly. Attempts will made to slow the economy and probably some civil disobedience/unrest will take place. Its a cold civil war as it is now.
Johnson cleverly made the election about respecting the will of the voters who voted for Brexit. The brexit vote itself was partially about sovereignty and euro control, but it was also significantly influenced by working class anger over mass immigration of third worlders into britain, a policy no one had bothered to ask them about.
I was amazed by how calm the whole thing was. Even the small protests after the election were very tame. Its not going to go down here as peacefully. I could be wrong and I hope I am.
The only Labour PM in the last 45 years was Tony Blair. If Trump loses re-election after losing the house and a bunch of governorships they’ll be saying the same type of thing about him. Too much racism, xenophobia, pandering to billionaires etc etc.
