    This crossed my mind.

Lets say worst case scenario ok...
The day before the 2020 election Russia, or NK, or China, or Iran, blah blah blah.... totally destroys several key States' voter registration data bases. Like Ohio or FL, or TX, etc...
People show up on election day and its a complete clusterfuck with lines that are miles long and civil servants who are 10,000% clueless as to what to do.
And say (which is not a reach), this will take months and months to fix by the best of the best that the private sector has to offer....

Does Trump still get to be President after January 20th?
I'm not a scholar on this stuff so I have to ask...
...did the founding fathers plan for some bs like this?

IIRC, declarations of "who won" would be suspended until everything calmed down. So I suppose, in your scenario, the inauguration, after all the votes are finally tallied, would happen a month or two later.

I have never heard of this happening before?

Well no screamin' duckshit. That's why I asked.:D

And where is your answer of "one or two months" in the Constitution? What if its one or two years? And what if its in 2024 with Trump still at the helm?
    Inquiring minds wanna know....

I don't see why they would...It'd be probably best to rig it to the candidate of choice by a small margin

*sighs* At least we are not in a FDR scenario where we would NEED the guy for four terms. Oh, and we have that new 2-term restriction now, hehe. Look, if shit hits the fan, we get Pence.

No... I'm not saying they hacked the vote to control the outcome... I'm saying they hacked the whole voting process where the vote couldn't even happen. IE, trash the registration databases.

With all due respect... this is a serious question. Can we let some experts opine here please. Don't troll my posts. I want to know what would happen.

Ahh, I see the context of what you are asking.

"...did the founding fathers plan for some bs like this?"...

No, because the founding fathers didn't even know electricity was a thing. So they certainly could not imagine the Interw3Bs.

As for the vote not happening because we've been hacked so bad we have Max Putin on our TVs? Vanz, you need a nap. You are doing thought-experiments in politics that are unhealthy, methinks.

I am not trolling you, I am trying to engage you. "Trash the registration databases"? Well, where are these databases stored now, as compared to 30 years ago? Surely we have hard-copies of these databases.
