You can fool a conservative with the same trick every day. You can show him how it is done, and still fool him with it. You can TEACH HIM HOW TO DO IT and still fool him with it. There does not seem to be a lower limit on what a conservative will fall for.

Consider this - Three and a half years as the chief law enforcement officer of the United States, and Trump is still complaining that his own justice department, led by hand-picked toadies, can't find a crime to charge a Democrat with. Every so called "scandal" like "Spygate" or "Obamagate" joins Jade Helm and Seth Rich and the birth certificate and the tan suit and the latte salute as scandals du jour that do not produce a single word on an official document.

An explosive New York Post story that sent Trumpworld into a frenzy is riddled with holes and red flags

    • Trumpworld flew into a frenzy on Wednesday after the New York Post published a report purporting to show a "smoking-gun email" featuring Hunter Biden communicating with a Ukrainian official about meeting with his father, Joe Biden, when he was vice president.
    • The Post's story had several red flags that raised doubts about its authenticity. The most glaring questions center around whether the emails described in the story are legitimate, how they were uncovered, and how the Post obtained them.
    • The Post's report said an unidentified computer-repair-shop owner discovered the emails and other compromising material about Hunter Biden after an unidentified person dropped off a water-damaged laptop last year to be repaired but never picked it up.
    • Business Insider identified the repair shop owner as John Paul Mac Isaac, an avid Trump supporter who couldn't get his facts straight when reporters later questioned him about the timeline of events laid out in the Post's story.
    • The outlet also said it learned of the emails' existence last month through Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, and obtained them through Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer.
    • Both men have pushed conspiracy theories about the Biden campaign's ties to Ukraine, and Giuliani met last year with a Ukrainian official who was sanctioned in September and accused of acting as a Russian agent.
    • In all, one expert said, the way the story was published appears to showcase "a standard tactic in disinformation operations."

How do we know the email is authentic?
We do not. The New York Post published PDF printouts of several emails allegedly taken from the laptop, but for the “smoking-gun” email, it shows only a photo made the day before the story was posted, according to Thomas Rid, the author of “Active Measures,” a book on disinformation. “There is no header information, no metadata.” The Washington Post has not been able to independently verify or authenticate these emails, as requests to make the laptop hard drive available for inspection have not been granted. The New York Post said it obtained the material from former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, a personal lawyer to President Trump.

There also is no indication that Hunter Biden replied to the email.

Moreover, another alleged email published by the New York Post contradicts the notion that Hunter Biden could influence his father. “What he will do and say is out of our hands,” Hunter Biden wrote in an email that the New York Post said was sent April 13, 2014.

Are there errors in the New York Post report?
A separate article, about another email, claims that a public relations company that worked for Burisma was allowed to take part in a conference call about an upcoming visit by Joe Biden to Ukraine. But there was nothing secret about this call, and the transcript was released publicly and posted on the White House website.

More broadly, the New York Post repeats the falsehood, advanced by Trump, that the “elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.”

Federal investigators are examining whether the emails allegedly describing activities by Joe Biden and his son Hunter and found on a laptop at a Delaware repair shop are linked to a foreign intelligence operation, NBC News reports.

The FBI seized the laptop and a hard drive through a grand jury subpoena.
