Hi, I need help in connecting IB's ActiveX Excel API to TWS - any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I used the old ActiveX API for ages but have just downloaded the new one and cannot get it to connect to TWS. The port is still 7496 and the Client ID and Log levels remain unchanged (0 & 5) I hit the "Connect" button and 2 windows come up saying "Do you want to connect" to which I reply "Yes" but then it just says "Connecting" but never actually connects. I am trying to connect to a paper trading account first. My Laptop is bog standard Windows 10. If you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful, thanks in advance ....
After a LOT of messing around it seems that I needed to use a new Client ID. Thank you for taking the time to read ... all the best
