Confusing bid/ask in TWS

Discussion in 'Options' started by hurricane_sh, Dec 13, 2016.

  1. I'm trading options in TWS, one option has the bid/ask $0.15/$0.25. If I bid/ask inside the range, the bid/ask doesn't update. Also, there are invisible offers at $0.20, all my bids at $0.2 were executed immediately. I have subscribed to all options data services.

Can anyone tell me why bid/ask doesn't update? How can I see all bids/offers? Thanks!

Hidden orders by the sounds of it. Most liquidity isn't visible.

  3. I didn't use hidden orders and my orders were ignored.

  4. think if you smart route the order is first shown to dark pools. most options are BS priced, so your 20c is fillable.

what exactly do you mean by that? sounds sort of confusing. very long time ago, when i've traded a large baskets of stocks i had problems with quotes. it was documented here and issue was on my side.. no matter what we tried (with a great help of developers team from IB)-i never got rid of this problem. have no idea,if it's still exists, because currently i don't trade much. it was on the random stocks and random fields aren't up updating properly. high\low updating, bid ask ,last -no. something like that. see if restarting TWS helps. if so-that might indicate a problem on your side.

He entered a limit and it got executed right away by some internal wholesaler. Nothing wrong with the software.

Nothing says a limit order has to hit the exchanfe

He could've been traded instantly with some algo that hits bids if x-above theoretical price. That would be within milliseconds, you can't see it that quick.

    Which broker does OP use?
