Computer suitable for Ninjatrader8

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by jodistrict, Dec 22, 2019.

  1. My computer isn't adequate to use Ninjatrader 8. It is slow and sometimes crashes.

I found the below computer for a reasonable price. It has:

    Quad Core i5-8265U
    16 GB Ram
    512 GB SSD Memory

Will this be enough to run Ninjatrader 8, particularly the bookmap features?

The only you posted will be more than enough. Your current one must be really old.

Buying electronics since the 1980's from very best to Acer. Always need 17 inch, 16 GB ram Dell. You can have a faster chip but if you have slow internet.... Better to have automation closer to exchanges like https://www.speedytradingservers.com/ or T-1 connection if trading larger. I am not a "gamer" outside of trading, so just basics is fine and just spend little more for a Dell.

  4. Most software like this you want a SSD and 16GB of RAM (I'm guessing your prior computer didn't have that).

  5. Maybe you want to investigate what other software is running in the background when you are trading. That other software could be the reason why your computer is slow.

If you buy a Lenova be very careful of the charger port, great bits of kit but had 3 charger ports die, my 8" tablet Lenova is loose and been on the way out for a while to.
