Comcast starts offering gigabit internet across Bay Area
Access to high-speed internet in the Bay Area took a leap forward with Comcast's widespread launch of super-fast internet that can download data at a rate of one gigabit-per-second. Comcast, the largest cable provider in the United States and one of the largest in the Bay Area, is making gigabit internet available to 4 million homes in the region at $159.95 per month without a contract, around $90 more than the current top-tier internet speed of 250 megabytes per second.
