I contacted the CME to create a perpetual 'Challenge' for Elitetrader, anyone interested? Members can keep track or practice ideas against other members here. Regards, Chris
Only if they bag that front-end. It wasn't possible to spread, required answering nearly a dozen questions prior to placing individual orders, etc.
He was referring to the sign up questionnaire. That took like 10-15 minutes to pass. Although that "prevents" multiple sign ups. But sure, why not. It is good for both businesses. CME can link to ET and say: Look how much those top 5 guys could be making. And ET's visibility also increases. All in all, it is worth a try.
OMG! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeez kill that POS front-end. Also if they are so warm and fuzzy to the HFTs, why don't they allow us to use algos as well?
Something tells me the CME would not go for this, since they are not in the business of "promoting private websites". What is the benefit for them? And it opens up all other cans of worms and conspiracies, such as "Are ETers getting exchange-trading discounts?" Big Mike would certainly take issue with it as well, I am sure. Besides, the perpetual challenge is already here, in the journals section. Why try to get the CME involved with their crappy interface and laggy "click OK" on every simulated trade entry? P.S. Their trading simulator has only a limited number of instruments, and is only futures (and FOP). There are people here that trade stocks and stock options you know. Would not be fair to many here who do not trade CME products. We're really not trading against each other here...So there's no real "challenge". This is a community to foster profitable members, not cause competition between them. At least, that is how I see ET.
Just thought it would be cool to log trades from different threads on here. It gives a certain degree of accountability. Imagine the ES thread traders logging their positions in ES. Instead of being ranked by the number of posts can be ranked on whether one has a verifiable edge. There is no mention of any private challenges on their website. So ET does not gain any publicity from it. The benefits are within ET itself so members can try different types of trades.
