CME Market Data Fee for Jan 1

Discussion in 'Data Sets and Feeds' started by CliffordHarris, Dec 23, 2014.

  1. After reading the CME's rules, I am a non-professional. However, I have futures accounts at 3 separate firms. The CME talked about a process where you could net the fees across firms. Does anyone know how to do this or am I stuck paying 3 futures firms for market data? Clearly the CME can't think this is a good idea right?

Not a bad idea. The futures firms are just collecting for the CME. I don't know if the CME would be so generous. They stockholders to worry about.

  3. it seems so short sighted. When the CME is interested in courting firms like Schwab and TD Ameritrade to try to bring in new futures traders who are trading stock they also place a tax on retail traders. How could they justify this other than greed. If they were truly interested in growing the industry as the largest futures exchange, decisions would be different.

You will save yourself a lot of grey hairs by not thinking about how the Chicago Exchanges/ Futures industry does business. You can be assured that brokers with small customer accounts hate this even more.

Just try to make more money.
