    Hi all,

I'm posting up here because I've seen countless posts about "who to use for cloud", or "good provider for auto trading". Hopefully giving my two cents can help out, and some other folks can reply with who they like, give feed back, etc.

    What is a VPS:
A VPS is a Virtual Private Server - in some cases referred to as the "cloud".
How would a VPS affect or be used for Trading:
VPS are becoming more popular with traders for a number of reasons. First, the machines are much closer to data centers, which means buying and selling is performed quicker. Some VPS offer 90% and up, up time. This means the servers will not turn off through out the day and can be accessed any time. Lastly is for auto-trading. Many people are beginning to use VPS For auto-trading because they do not like leaving their home computer running 24/7, where a potential power outage, or virus could stop the computer from running at an important time.

I've worked with a few different VPS like ToggleBox and by far Fission Forged Hosting (www.fissionforgedhosting.com) is my favorite. For a few reasons:

1.They use Windows Remote Desktop so I can use any computer to check up on my Cool Trade automated software. Since I don't always have my laptop with me.

    2. They have a 99.9% up-time so I don't ever have to worry about the server turning off at a peak moment (this was a huge issue with other places).

    3. Security. Since I have my SS# tied to tax IDs, It's reassuring that everything they use is by key-card access only and have built in firewalls.

Does anyone else have other recommendations?

No kidding. Latency is a huge part of what I was talking about. At home I have a consistent 40/20Mb/s connection, but the latency can kill you, even with good speeds.
