Closing Account Problem

    Hi,

    I have an account at Direct Futures, part of LaSalle Futures. I want the broker to close the account and wire the money to another brokerage, but the broker refuses to do anything. I have sent emails to which I get no response and when I call, he says he will call back but never does. What can one do in such a case?

  2. I have never requested transfer from broker to broker, for these "delays" happen frequently. Also, I have trust issues. So, what I do is liquidate and have the funds wired to me. When the new account is approved and open, then I wire the funds to the new broker. Extra step and worth avoiding the headache described above.
