    Do note that the title
    'China… US$ … Bonds'
    is meaningless.

Do note that there are millions of opinions in this world.
Arnaud Bertrand is one of them.
We wouldn't be spending years looking into those opinions.

This is at least the 3rd time you've asked this from me.
If you're too busy to read a few paragraphs then put me on ignore because I won't be providing cliff notes.

Interesting article. Could be a very weird future for us all if that's how things play out

  5. It's a pretty interesting, simple, and potentially powerful idea.

    ChatGPT summary:

China’s recent issuance of $2 billion in USD-denominated sovereign bonds in Saudi Arabia has raised eyebrows due to its strategic implications. The bonds were heavily oversubscribed and carried interest rates nearly matching U.S. Treasuries, highlighting China’s growing appeal as an alternative manager of dollar liquidity. Issuing these bonds in Saudi Arabia, the center of the petrodollar system, signals a challenge to U.S. dominance, offering nations like Saudi Arabia a new option for investing their dollar reserves.

This move could pave the way for a parallel dollar system, undermining the U.S.’s ability to finance its deficits while strengthening China’s economic influence, especially through its Belt & Road Initiative. By helping partner nations reduce their dollar dependence, China simultaneously reduces its excess dollar holdings and shifts global financial power. It’s a calculated message to the U.S., showcasing China’s capacity to reshape the system with minimal effort, leaving Washington with limited and potentially self-damaging countermeasures.

  7. Aloha mervyn,
I'm not sure if this is a rhetorical question, but if you meant it literally, i clicked the link, copy and pasted asking chatGPT to summarize it for me in two paragraphs. Told chatGPT it was too long of a response and asked for something 1/4 that length. Pasted here
