WUHAN, China (Reuters) - China reported on Saturday a rise in new coronavirus infections, mostly in travellers arriving from abroad, as doctors in the central city of Wuhan, where the virus initially emerged, warned its behaviour was still not well-understood. Tough curbs imposed in China since January have reined in infections sharply since the height of the pandemic in February, although it has spread worldwide to infect 1.6 million people with 100,000 deaths. But Chinese authorities fear the possibility of a second wave triggered by arrivals from overseas or asymptomatic patients. “We can’t say that there is no such potential risk,” said Wang Xinghuan, president of Wuhan’s Leishenshan hospital, its second built especially for virus patients. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...rus-cases-most-from-abroad-idUSKCN21T012?il=0 Sounds like China has been outsourcing responsibility and is hedging their bets.
Every article about the economy and pandemic this weekend has me thinking the markets open down 3% or more. I just cannot find any positive articles anywhere, every headline is worse than the next. It literally feels like this quarantine is going to last until June or July. How people will cope with this matter is beyond me. Most people are extroverted and need their playtime and company, this is going to send many people to breakdown. Stay strong because this looks like its far from being over.
Till the time a cure is found with very high rates of success, this virus can really give shocks to economies around the globe. A vaccine will not help as 8 billion people will take several decades to get the shot.
Despite all the measures taken around the world, it is impossible to stop the virus completely, as I understand it. I read in a European publication the other day that the reaction to this virus is very strong now, but in time the disease will become a kind of seasonal and people will be able to cope with it an order of magnitude faster. Do not forget that the dynamics in today's market is incredibly strong, which means that those diseases that were previously virtually fixed in one area, now spread many times faster, respectively, and the number of patients is growing exponentially. I think the most important thing in our situation is not to panic and stick to all recommendations. I think we can do it and we will appreciate our health and each other more.
Seriously dude, one person is administering the shots? The U of P vaccine is not even a shot, more like a band aid. You can throw them from helicopters.
Vaccine will not be cost effective also, as when the new strain hits, its same nonsense all over again. Thx Dude !!
