Chicago Is Rigging Red Light Cameras To Rack Up Millions In Fines

    Holy hell, this is shady even for US standards.
     
  4. Everyone driving in the entire Cook County area already knows this. I'd have more respect for the hacks if they just stopped me, held out their hand and said pay up. The Mob could only dream of this kind of extortion, and at least the Mob could offer protection.
     
  5. Just another example of the ruling elite viewing the people as mere tax donkeys and here to provide, support, and service their privileged lives.

    A couple of years back, Denver got similar flack for making the yellow lights shorter. While that caught more "red light" violations, it also cause more collisions at the busiest intersections. Haven't heard about it lately, so I assumed they backed off of the "short yellow". If they cared about safety, the yellows would be lengthened as well as the pause between red and green... though that kind of safety measure would cut the revenue from fines. (Silly me, even thinking such a thing.)
