Thank you! I loved playing 1 to 5 minute chess and had to learn to change my game to reduce stress. Changing was hard, waiting for your opponent to move seemed like forever(sound familiar, I got kicked out of my biotech on Friday because I was too impatient, did not see the pattern forming before my eyes!) Once I finally changed my game from Bullet Chess to Long Chess, the beauty of the Game was more pronounced. So how does this apply to trading? I like Bullet Trading and now I love long drawn out Tournament Trading, changing my brain from Scalping to Month to Year long trades took years to alter. Guess what, it has helped make trading far less stressful and more enjoyable! I use to pick off guys rated 2200 when I played inexperienced players One Minute. Using twisted or freaky moves you can't use in the long game because you will lose! Stock Market is a long-term game, if we can't play our long-game we will lose to those who can play the Long Game! Sure feels like Trading, Great Article!
This thread with absolute and undeniable application to inproving one's trading is moved to chit chat...... Wtf? Seriously mods, this wasn't a very bright move. surf
Thank you Market-Surfer, your posts are always great and insightful, our common love for Neidhoffer create's a bond because we can see through all the lies spread against one of the best honest Hedge Funds. Can we rightfully call Jim Cramer great? He who has the reputation with Dan Dorfman back in the 1980s of feeding out threads on Motley Fool's AOL website(early 1990s) or Smart Money Magazine to create a frenzy(as rumors said) on Small Caps to sell in to the Crowd. Why did Jim get booted from Smart Money and Dow Jone's writing, that speak's for itself! Jon Stewart proved Jim was not a good man, that's for all to see. Jim has lasted longer than Granville(1970s "Three cuts and a jump! theory). Everything Victor write's is poetry, Jim Cramer drive's me nuts because all he spews is the words of his writers, does he actually teach how to evaluate Markets, neuro-observations and include great articles like Chess's or Poker's similar nature with Market, I think not! A Thousand Thank Yous Sir;! I push both of Victor's books on everyone I speak to about Trading, they are Classics and must reads, if the Trader does not read them I usually fade from speaking to them because it demonstrate's both the "mentally laziness" that Victor and Jesse Livermore expounded upon! When I swim long-distance across Lake Tahoe or San Francisco, I think of Victor and his Dad swimming off the Coast together, Me and my son swim long-distance like Victor and his Dad, when I come to New York, do you think by chance we can take Victor out to his favorite restraunt on my treat? I have been a fan of his since 1996's' book, thank you!
