Cheapest US stocks broker for small amount (EU resident)

Discussion in 'Retail Brokers' started by bankroll, Oct 26, 2013.

  1. So, no InteractiveBrokers with 10,000 minimum.

As I am an EU resident it is not illegal to me to hold a CFD account; but as I have seen them these are cheap for indexes but not necessarily cheaper for individual stocks.

I really like the approach to start early on with real money, even a smaller account, compare that to perfect your trading on a demo account, go live with 10,000 and lose everything.

So, at which broker it is feasible to trade with smaller amounts? No big turnover, mainly buy and hold.

    Investorseurope.

  3. Not much info about this broker on the forum. Based in Gibraltar. I would feel more safe if it would be based in London, New York, Frankfurt, etc.

    Hi,

Just read your question and I would recommend you trading with IFC Markets. The company offers quite convenient conditions. The leverage offered is 1:40, the commission is charged for position opening only (0.1%). Besides, no Swap is applied, if you leave you position open for a day. The company provides 81 CFDs on Stocks, like Apple Inc, Walt Disney Company, PepsiCo Inc, Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, etc.

    Good luck!!

  5. Thanks! I'll look into this.

  6. Well. Actually I am not sure if that would be enough of a selection to trade like Mr Darvas.

Second, what can be said about the company's cheap and easy withdrawal methods? Their web design is not so straightforward to easily find what I am looking for.

why not leave the 10k in there?

Size your positions to the amount that you want to risk. you have a 30 cent stop and only want to risk $75 means you only buy 250 shares.

Unless you dont have that much to begin with. You can start an account with a prop firm. There are a few canadian firms that you can open an account with. MGB trading for one. Although its a prop firm, it has been around since 2010 and afiliated with WTS, so they seem to be more reliable out of most of the prop shops. But since you dont like investors europe being based in Gibralter, you probably wont like the idea of a prop shop either.
