I have been subscribing to an end-of-day commodity charting program for several years and I like it a lot. It has one major flaw, the data isn't updated until after 9:00 pm Central time. The free platform that my broker provides has up-to-date data right at the close of the session but it lacks a lot of the features that my EOD has. So to use the EOD program I have to work later than I want to at night or get up earlier than I care to in the mornings. I've started looking for a program that will be updated no later than 1 hour after the session is closed. Do you know of any? I like using an installed app but I'm open to a web-based version.

Well, you'd have to list the features you can't live without.

Have a look at AmiBroker and AmiQuote.
AmiQuote can download EOD data from several (free) sources, including Quandl, Barcharts, yahoo and others.

Ami products are one-time purchases. Upgrade fees may apply after 24 months.

It has a study that plots the difference between the contract month and 6 future contract months to track carry and premium. You can backtest trading systems with several parameters to tweak. It has two different seasonal studies that I like.

That looks like a robust program but I can’t find a complete list of studies on the website. I also didn’t see a free trial offer.

Amibroker has a programming language that could probably do what you want.

I would try CQG Q trader and QT Market Center.

The program is Track N Trade from gecko software. It's a great program for people like me who haven't learned to code. But the drawback is that they don't update the end-of-day prices till late at night. They have a live version but you have to open an account with them and I'm not interested in trading with them.
