AMP claims they are phasing out CQG data on their systems, so it looks like changing to Denali data service is the only option. (AMP doesn't have Teton running yet, so we'll still use CQG for order routing). Anybody here made the change? Specific problems, if any? And which "service" do you end up having selected (Data/Trade Service Settings/Service .... "CQG Web API" or "SC Data.. All Services".... or other? Tks.
Here's where I first heard about it. You have to read through the Support Board to know what they have in mind. When I first saw this they said they "intend to phase out CQG support 100% by year end". Since, they have back-tracked a bit... saying they "still might offer CQG in Package 11 and 12, but "probably at a higher price". ?? https://www.sierrachart.com/SupportBoard.php?ThreadID=72331 I didn't receive any notification from SC at all... that "Package 3 will have only delayed data, not real time, beginning with service renewals after April 15... and suggest if you want RT data consider packages 5, 10, 11, 12". Refer to the following for how to setup Denali for the CME Group data: Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME Exchanges* (link) My renewal date is April 16. I didn't want to challenge their LIS of April 15, so I upgraded from Package 3 to Package 10 yesterday. In spite of the first instructions I encountered, I didn't have to change any settings or symbols... just did the Denali "signup/activation". It was easier than I was lead to believe. (I was surprised to see that after upgrading my Selected Service is still "CQG Web API".... I thought it would change to "SC.. All Services", and I would have to change the symbols... but no. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to eventually learn that they are not telling us the "whole story".)
They may not be official about "phasing out CQG 100%" just yet, but they made it clear that there would be no RT data in Package 3 for renewals after April 15. (Unless, of course, they "don't really mean it".) Besides, Sunday afternoon opening is likely to be an up-gap/gap-n-go... at least for a dozen points or so... and I didn't want to find out then that I didn't have RT data for having renewed Package 3 after their Apr 15 cut-off.
This is NOT an accurate statement: "AMP claims they are phasing out CQG data on their systems" AMP is NOT making any changes to our CQG offering. Regarding the addition of Sierra Chart Denali Data, we are in "understanding all the nuances mode..." Once we can get to a comfortable place to handle the scale of our business, we will be able to add it to our available services.
If your comments are directed at me, you do understand, don't you... that I was talking about Sierra Chart, not AMP. And doesn't AMP already have Denali Data Feed, just not Teton order routing at this time? (SC mentioned they thought AMP might have Teton by July...)
You mentioned AMP specifically, and made no mention of Sierra Chart, which is why I asked the question in the first place. Glad AMP rep could clear that up.
Oooh... my misstatement. I meant Sierra when I said "AMP". Conflation thingy. Apologies to all I confused.
As of Sunday 5/22/22, 5pm pst, I consider this to be a random Sunday in May, I can no longer connect to CQG via Sierrachart. My Sierra account is paid through the end of June. Now, tonight, I am required to choose an SC service package that includes Denali, and activate(and pay) exchange fees and any service level differential to SierraChart. I have tested a few platforms recently, and have landed on Multicharts. MotiveWave is a close runner up. Those are my choices. AMP remains top notch for my daily trading... and the CQG credentials work with other platforms, no muss, no fuss. After 16 years, SC can go suck it!
