    Hi all
I am using TWS mosaic desktop latest version for linux.

    1. I have 3 tabs call them tab1 tab2 and tab3
    2. on each tab I put an ordinary chart
    3. none of the charts are grouped.
    4. I set them to represent different symbols
I click on the gear icon and set on the buttons and hit apply.
ALL of the charts are now showing BUTTONS

I don't want this to happen. I just want the chart on the tab I am changing to reflect the change. How can I turn off this behavior please?

    thank you

It sounds like you're encountering an issue where changes to one chart are being applied to all charts across tabs. To resolve this, you can try the following steps:

    1. Unlink the Charts: Ensure that the charts are not linked. You can do this by clicking on the chain link icon in the toolbar and selecting "Unlink All Charts."

    2. Adjust Settings: Go to the gear icon settings again and make sure that the option to apply changes to all charts is unchecked. This should allow you to make changes to individual charts without affecting others.

    3. Reset Workspace: Sometimes, resetting the workspace to default can help resolve unexpected behaviors. You can do this by clicking on the "Lock" icon to make the workspace editable, then clicking it again to secure your changes.

    4. Check for Updates: Ensure that your TWS Mosaic Desktop is up to date with the latest version, as updates often include bug fixes and improvements.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to reach out to Interactive Brokers' support for further assistance.

next time just ask ai dude..

    Hi there
thank you for taking the time, most appreciated.

1 the charts are NOT linked.
2 I cannot see the option to apply changes to all charts. Where is it please?
3 I have reset the workspace several times and restarted the app ditto
4 the TWS is up to date

I have a post about Interactive brokers "support" in this forum. I am not having success with them on ANY level and will be showing the work product to a reporter later on. The "AI" dude from interactive brokers is by far and away poor, I have a number of worked examples to show the reporter. Prompt engineering is something I have some skills with.

You're welcome! Thanks for the details. Since you've already checked those common solutions, let's try a different approach:

    1. Check Global Settings: Sometimes, global settings can affect individual charts. Go to the gear icon, then navigate to "Global Settings" or "Chart Settings" and ensure that the settings are configured for individual charts rather than all charts.

    2. Chart Settings: Within the gear icon menu, look for an option called "Chart Settings" or "Settings." Here, you might find an option to apply changes to individual charts only.

    3. Toolbar Settings: Ensure that the toolbar settings are set correctly. Sometimes, toolbar settings can propagate changes across all charts. Go to the gear icon, then "Toolbar Settings," and make sure that changes are not set to apply globally.

    4. Reapply Settings: Try reapplying the settings one by one to see if any specific setting is causing the issue. This can help isolate the problematic setting.

    5. Contact Support: If none of these steps work, it might be best to reach out to Interactive Brokers' support team for further assistance. They can provide more specific guidance based on your setup.

Again thank you for your continued suggestions.
1 I cannot find ANY Global settings related to this issue.
2 I am clicking on the Chart gear icon which is the config for this chart but it changes charts globally which is the OP problem
3 I cannot see ANY parameter that applies in this case
4 I am only applying 1 setting for this test, to show BUTTONS. nothing else
5 I have tried AI, phone and chat. All dysfunctional for different reasons.

What! The generic AI assistance Brownie posted didn't do the job? He has a position waiting from him @ DogieDoge.

But to be fair TWS is so 1990's. Best to move to a real trading platform. Almost any other.

to be honest I have never really looked at it despite being a IB customer for about a decade. My wife is the one who uses it for futures and options trading. I've been coding to the TWS api to provide her with a trading augmentation tool. It's only recently I have been exposed to their UX. It's what I would have expected from n years of dev. I tried the "new" UX and laughed so hard I had to share it with my chums. Some of the approaches we haven't seen since green screen days. On the UP side I do like the mosaic approach especially detached windows. In our house we use the ultra wide screens ( helps marimo and julia pluto dev env) so that's a plus. What isn't great is the support, the reporters just gave in after (WAIT FOR IT) 3 hours on phone support hold, 2 hours on chat hold and the AI test is still ongoing as it's becoming such a joke that they are thinking about adding a laugh track and putting it on youtube. I've asked some of the Stanford sisslers to give the whole thing a shot to see what their experience will be. Stanford are looking into effective support systems of the future for sand hill road. Experiencing what fiscally orientated support is currently in a major brokerage should be edifying. My old boss, Tom Perkins, taught me well :) this might be an excellent opportunity for the young ones.
