if you have your @$$ kicked by citron recently or in the past delivering fake short sentiments, sign this petition now https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...qQXqhT7m3DPbZV3IP0XUHRjHS8idu-TADAoKpoesNJMoM https://www.change.org/p/u-s-securi...xp=message-14147335-en-GB&share_bandit_var=v0
Where is the petition to sign against the wall st banks and brokers who have buy ratings on stocks that tank? I’ll take Citron/Muddy Waters over a bank/broker any day
It's not really the same thing. Vast majority of analyst recommendations from the banks/brokers are mostly clueless and useless (like 99% of any sell-side research). It's not like they have massive positions that they are trying to push. The whole idea of research-to-media based shorting definitely borders on market manipulation, even if their research and risk-taking groups are technically separate entities. On the other hand, they do serve a purpose.
I am undecided on the merits of this petition, but I do find it funny how change.org itself is trying to deceive people about how actively people are signing (try loading, watching, then reloading the page and see what happens...).
Citron/MW expose so many stock frauds I think their research is incredible. Obviously they aren’t right 100% of the time but they are magnitudes better than any bank/broker that has 90% buy recommendations. If you lost money shorting their negative calls it’s your own fault. Same as losing money going long a buy reco by a broker.
People need to learn how to use the "Ignore" button and use it more often and do their own due diligence before making any decisions especially when money is involved. Unless those research agencies charge you for their recommendations whatever they publish is considered gratuitous and they don't owe anybody any duty or obligation to be "honest" or "accurate". And if people care to read their disclaimer, they stated very clearly that they do have positions in the stocks that they try to push or degrade and they even recommend people who use their research to do their own research before making any investment decisions. Just because you don't choose to be diligent and smart doesn't mean the world has to bend over backward to accommodate you especially not in the financial world where people are competing to be at the top. Change.org needs to be used for real genuine purposes for what it was originally designed for, you know to effect real changes like ending domestic violence.
I am guessing you didn't get rid of your NIO shares and got yourself fk. Should've bought the big dip Friday. FOMO is gonna hit hard Monday with Citron flipping cheap shares and taking it back up just before ER.
