Carlson and Cortez agree

  1. As do I. Why does Amazon get a tax break?
    Cortez tweets:
Amazon is a billion-dollar company. The idea that it will receive hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks at a time when our subway is crumbling and our communities need MORE investment, not less, is extremely concerning to residents here.

Carlson said it was “hard to argue with” the progressive newcomer’s criticism of e-commerce giant Amazon, which has received $2 billion in tax incentives in exchange for locating its two new headquarters in Long Island City, New York, and Arlington, Virginia. The richest man in the world just got $2 billion in taxpayer subsidies? How does that work?” he added.
“Hate to admit it but Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a very good point,” Carlson responded on his show.

“That’s the only time I’ve ever agreed with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but it’s hard to argue with the internal logic of her point. The richest man in the world just got $2 billion in taxpayer subsidies? How does that work?” he added.

Amazon was simply looking for the cheapest whore, and they found it!

  3. Let's not kid ourselves. Carlson doesn't give a shit about tax breaks. (When was the last time he complained about corporate tax breaks?) He just doesn't like Bezos for obvious reasons. At least Ocasio-Cortez's intentions are pure.

  4. Carlsons views are consistent. Just because he calls out the left on their bullshit doesn't make him wrong. I know in your world anyone who doesn't believe Trump is the devil is wrong on everything else, but that's just not the case. Facts are the left is, and has been selling out for years and years to the establishment they once rallied against.

It’s remarkable to see a conservative and a democratic socialist unite in condemning major American companies. Both Senator Bernie Sanders and Fox News host Tucker Carlson have recently slammed Amazon, Walmart, Uber, and other large companies for paying workers and contractors too little.

  5. Right after you show me all the democrats who are upset when companies in their states get tax breaks. There are few purists on the issue. Like I keep saying, there are few if any clean hands in Washington D.C. You want to believe there is some difference between the two establishment parties. There isn't.

  6. Except we're talking about a "journalist" here, rather than politicians looking out for their constituents' interests.

  7. So it's okay for a politician to run the tax break scam, but wrong for someone else to point out the bullshit in that little scam? Got it. So I guess you're okay with Trump doing whatever he wants just so long as it is in the best interests of his constituents, and no journalist should be able to comment negatively on that. You're all over the place, which is typical. It's all situational and selective outrage to the left.

  8. Come on, don't be obtuse. The "journalist" in question only plays it one way. That is what I'm saying. He doesn't hold his own to account. Which makes him anything but a journalist. He's a cheerleading fanboy. So then why even mention the scum bucket?

  9. He's not a journalist, he's a political commentator, no different than the fanboys over at CNN or MSNBC. He does lean more libertarian, but I concede he will favor Trump over the socialist left in most cases.
