Long-term shareholders in Dell have had a miserable experience for the better part of the last 10 years. So now Dell and private equity guys see shares as undervalued, swoop in wanting to buy the company cheap. If Icahn can get Dell to pay more, then good for him and good for long term Dell shareholders that have suffered. Yes, Icahn is looking old. He's still playing the wall street game at age 77.
He's like one of those actors who have a nice career, nothing special, then they become giant stars when they are elderly. Kind of like Rodney Dangerfield or Christopher Walken. It's very very good to be Carl Icahn, that's for sure. They guy coins a quarter of a billion bucks more easily than we make $100 trading AAPL.
I believe that's now spelled iCahn. He's done more for the price of the stock in one day than management did in a year.
