Looking at not day trading but maybe a few trades a week, should I be looking at IB.ca, questtrade, or something else?

Anything I should stay away from?
    Thanks.

I use IB in Canada and think they are great.

I use tradefreedom. Very basic platform, no bells and whistle.
Like any brokers, they are not perfect but i am reasonably happy with them.

IB + NINJA (FRONT END) + ENSIGN ==> GOOD COMBO IMO

  5. Questrade (cybertrader platform). Considered Tradefreedom and IB but do not like their platforms.

  6. I agree. Questrade (cybertrader platform) is a good weapon.

Tradefreedom and IB, do not like their platforms.

I trade with Questrade, and they are pretty good although last week they dropped the ball a few times after hours. The alerts with Cybertrader elite work great for my style. Allows me to have a stop and limit outs active at the same time.

Please help me to understand why people even ask this question.

Most Canadian brokers commissions are $20 to $30 per trade for pre-historic trading systems. IB commission is $1 to $5 (based on $1 per 100 shares ) for one of the most advanced trading platforms.

How a rational person / trader / investor can even ask the question what brokers to use?????
