So for all the posters on here who continually say that Canada doesn't matter and Canada can't do this or that ... . Seems to me there is an awful lot of interest in Canada these days and Trump is absolutely obsessed with Canada.

Our reaction is fuck off with all this crap. You guys make regressive policies then change your mind daily. Posters on here claim it's all tremendous then the policies change and it's still all tremendous ? Markets absolutely hate this crap as well.

Traders should care about reality not all this made up stuff about how economies work. Trump is mentally ill and almost none of his policies have any basis in economic fact or have much staying power to them. You are hurting your own interests.

Trump delayed the auto tariffs another month after talking to GM, Ford, Chrysler. Well no kidding Sherlock they told him about the massive layoffs coming within a week if he carries forward as planned. Cars are already going up massively in price as steel/aluminum prices get spiked up. That's real. All the talk on here is mostly crap.

Doug Ford would like to add a FU. Get ready to start paying 25% more for electricity. The longer the tariff insanity goes on, the higher the surcharge will be.

Ontario slapping 25% surcharge on U.S.-bound electricity Monday, Ford says
Province provides electricity to New York, Michigan and Minnesota

BTW... delaying tariffs by a month probably will not delay the 25% electricity surcharge. If Trump wants to play this game, it ain't going to go well for the U.S.

The stupid in this equation is you and Trump. You are going to have to learn this the hard way.

Canadians are strongly resolved to put maximum punishment on Trump. I don't think the American public has that same resolve given that almost half of them don't like Trump and he never introduced the idea of a massive trade war with Canada in the election. Govt debt is a massive problem in the US it's only going to get worse under current policy.

Only when BC hyrdro needs it and they are perfectly capable of reducing demand. They are working on getting power from Alberta.

They won't need so much aluminium smelting due to tariffs so some capacity problems solved if Río Tinto divert some of their own generated capacity to the grid, which would help them while looking for new markets.

The USA is not only up against just Canada, the US is only 4 percent of global population. The tail has wagged the dog a long while but tails get clipped.
