  1. Just curious,

In your opinion can you rank easiest to hardest ways to make money in the markets?

    Interested in hearing different perspectives.

Investing is very easy, just do what Warren Buffett says to invest in the stock index for the long term. It worked very well for me.

  5. it would seem to me that investing would be easiest due to the positive drift of the market and longer time horizon. You could just get lucky in that most individual stocks follow the drift of the market.

Day trading would seem like its purely skill-based, due to the short-term nature and large amount of randomness in intraday price action.

  6. worked well for me as well.

Timing luck. Those who started in 2000 went thru -55% till 2003, -60% till 2008, breakeven in 2013.

Those who started in 2008 are seeing only gains for the last 15 years.

I started in 2004 and made zero until 2011. Basically 7 wasted years. Investing is NOT easy, it's psychologically very hard. It's easy only for those who had luck and are not even aware of that.

Cherry-pick any period. This forum is great on shitting on ideas not presenting viable alternatives. Boogle and Buffet got it right and index investing is tax efficient as well. Dow sold off to about 400 in 1973 oil shock - 34,000 today and that is sans dividends. Pick you poison Broad Market - Tech or small cap. Do some homework and look at typical corporate 401(K) for folks retiring. When does social security run dry?
