99% of my api smart orders are passive so wanna avoid those exchanges which don't give rebates. Don't see any way to do this in api/gui... anybody able to do this?
Smart orders by default mean they’re designed by the broker to work according to their parameters. Except for basic preferences that you can control (like trying to get max rebates). What you’re asking seems to be equivalent of your own smart router where you make main decisions, so you’d have to design it. But have you tried to just submit your orders to specific exchanges via api? This would even allow you to keep improving your results, vs relying on a black box and hopimg for some features that you may not be satisfied with anyway.
directed api order can't use tiered commission...i only wanna exclude couple of exchanges actually. seems like i really need to move away from ib
i also have same needs. I do not think you can avoid some exchanges. if you find other alternative broker, please mention it on this thread.
What if you just choose one exchange like NASDAQ and choose an add only order. Does IB allow that on their API?
if you specify your own destination instead of using smart, you can not use tiered commission. IB will charge 0.005/share,minimum 1 dollar per order.
We do allow that on Lightspeed Trader, Sterling Trader Pro, Realtick, CBOE Silexx, and our Lime Gateway with whatever your rate structure is. We do not change our cost structure if your order is manual or automated.
Hidden yes, I'm not sure what "relative" is. I'm guessing that is an IB order type. You can hide an order on the order entry window, hotkey or by exchange by default.
What are the rebates from IBKR? can you please link. I understand there is not much room in getting different tiers unless trading A LOT if that is what you mean by rebates. Thanks,
