Camtasia Studio (Recording Live Trading)

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by smalltrader35, Feb 17, 2009.

  1. I want to record my live trading. At the minute I am testing the features of Camtasia Studio. All I want to do is to be able to cut my account number from the various Domes I have open on the layout. I haven't been able to do this with Camtasia and I have found nothing in the help files etc. Anybody on elite using Camtasia that can tell me if I can cut or hide my account number when recording? I have contacted Camtasia directly without a responce to date. If I cannot cut or hide my account number using Camtasia can anybody tell me if there are any software packages that will record my live trading where I can hide or cut parts of the screen while recording?

Thx in advance for any help with this.

  2. In camtasia, there is a feature to record just a region of the screen instead of the entire screen. Just select a region and leave your account # out of it.

  3. it does zap a lot of cpu so make sure you have enough RAM and whatnot.

  4. Thx for the replies. I'm aware of the feature that enables me to record just a portion of the screen but my trading layout is such that this is not viable as doing so would mean only half my charts are visible. I would like to show my live complete layout while trading but can't find any software that enables me to do that. The majority of packages available only record 1 monitor and don't enable me to hide my account number.

If anybody has any further insight into any software packages available I ge very grateful.

    Thank you

you'll be able to block the account number after you've recorded the video if you're not interested in cutting that portion out from the get go.

In Camtasia you can post edit your recording before publishing.
After you are done you click "Edit my recording" Under Post Save Options.
You can always use Premiere and After Effects by Adobe for post production editing.
    Hope that helps
