I'm guessing the odds are absolutely miniscule, but then again, so are the odds of being struck by lighting, and that also happens to some unfortunate people every year.

How does one put things in one's favour in order to win the lottery? The only thing I can think of is buying a large amount of tickets, but I doubt that makes a significant difference in one's chances.
