    Hi everyone,

As some people might know, I work on the buy side. As many of my friends / peers,
Business and salaries are not growing as fast as 10 years ago.
I would like to get more details about sell side today (US, UK, continental Europe) :
    - wages : close to buy side? higher ? lower ? depends ?
    - variable : 2 / 6 months on average for buy side. Higher on sell side ?
    - working hours : 10h / day on average for buy side. Seems higher on sell side.

If you work on the buy side then wouldn't it be logical to speak with the people on the sell side who cover your account?

In general, the sell side jobs that pay salaries+commissions, will expect you to bring in a book of business either from another firm, or very soon. I've heard stories of people being hired then let go in 6 months from lack of production.
