    Buffett's lunch auction to benefit Glide hits $1M in early bidding

    Warren Buffett's 18th annual lunch auction to benefit San Francisco's Glide hit seven figures in its first day of bidding. The auction has raised more than $23 million since it began in 2000 as a fundraiser for the San Francisco nonprofit, which first came to Buffett's attention through his late wife Susan Buffett, who lived in San Francisco.     Anonymous donor pays $2.6M for Buffett lunch
    The 18th annual auction for lunch with Warren Buffett to support San Francisco's Glide Foundation was won with a bid of $2,679,001. The winning bidder will remain anonymous, Glide said. In prior years, an anonymous bidder's identity later became known. The eBay auction for the lunch fell short of last year's record $3,456,789. (San Francisco Business Times)
