Brokerage for VX???

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by traderzhang, Feb 5, 2024.

  1. I'm looking for a broker that offers VX futures with decent intraday margins. Apparently many futures brokerages don't even offer VX to trade. The few that I've found are right at the exchange margin rates even for intraday. ITG futures is roughly 20% exchange, but I'm in the US and can't open an account with them.

Not us. We top out at 50% using CQG.

  3. thanks Robert. 50% is really tempting, but $1.29 commissions per side is keeping me from pulling the trigger with lightspeed.

We can offer VX futures with 25% day trading margins up to 10 contracts and then we go up to 50% for next 10 contracts and anything above will require between 50% and 100% depending on different risk factors. Feel free to PM me if interested.

I'd be more than happy to discuss that directly, but if excessive margin is your number one concern, Cannon Trading offered lower margin above.

A lot of brokers, e.g. Amp offer low intraday margin requirements on VSTOXX[1], the Euro STOXX 50 volatility index which might be an interesting alternative for you.

  7. Thx so much! I'll look into those alternatives! I'm surprised big futures brokers like Amp doesn't even offer /VX

  8. Thx! I sent you a message. VX isn't listed on your website, so I was a little confused.

Thanks for pointing this out. We do offer VX and mini VX via our in house platform as well as CQG. I just replied to you as well privately.

AMP does offer VX trading. You just need to enable a CBOE feed. The margin requirement is very high however. We're talking full-size Silver contract-level high, but that is to be expected on a contract that moves 50 bux per tick.

ETA: AMP is far from being a big broker. In fact, on the list of FCMs provided by the NFA, AMP is pretty much at the very bottom in terms of size of segregated funds account.
