I'm getting sick of looking for software. Maybe some of you guys can help here. I need software that can chart any and all of the following... 50*ES - 5*YM 350*AAPL ES - SPX RTY - RUT 3000*ZB - 5000*ZN - 1000*UB 100*XLK - 350*XLF The dream would be that it can also chart ALL the NYSE internals and any expression involving them as well. This is actually many less software than I would have thought.
i recall ib tws can do that, not pretty but it can chart combo, maybe not quantity but i have not played it for a while. it can definitely add index comparison. https://www.ibkrguides.com/traderworkstation/chart-multiple-assets.htm
Already have IBKR, the API and Schwab ThinkorSwim. I'm just surprised this is hard to find. Current (unchecked) prospects are like TradeStation, Firetip, IronBeam, etc., etc.
I think TradingView can do what you want if you have at least plus subscription or higher. https://www.tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000502298-spread-charts/
Ok... Color me confused but I chart spreads on TOS/ThinkOrSwim... and I have used TOS for NYSE internals for some indexes... SP500 ADLine and ADVolume... ditto QQQ... and others... You need to check out the things TOS can do with spreads and Internals and code... Pretty much what you asked for... Here is screen shot of my Pair List Spreads in List where with 1 click I load any pair with a pre-calculated Long / Short Hedge ratio... Like QQQ to SPY is QQQ-1.2*(SPY) - I use ATR for calc'in Hedge Ratio of my spreads. Here is a screen shot of Spread Chart...from clicking on the QQQ 1.2*(SPY) on the side bar List... Spread Chart has volume, open, close, vWap, 2StDev, 3StDev, 5StDev and you can do a lot more... Many Internals for Indexes are also available in built in TOS and also doable by code. HTHelps...
Like I said, already have and use TWS/API and thinkorSwim to do this. I'm just looking for other options as well. As an update, I'm leaning towards funding a little TastyTrade account as a supplemental ware for those two, and then getting TradingView Pro for extra charting of spreads and stuff. Schwab is winning the charting game from where I'm standing, with TradingView the runner up. Can't seem to find any other software that's worth a damn for this that isn't expensive af (comparatively).
Righto... Ok... Thanks... I read your OP but I assumed (**wrongly**) that you were not using TOS for your pair trading lists or pair charts... and were also not charting & using the inbuilt TOS Index internals symbols either to figure strategy on your pairs via ADLine of one versus the other... and ditto for the ADVolume of one versus the other... both of which create an accurate TRIN symbol... more accurate than NYSE TRIN crap... Pair trading for me is fascinating... and much easier to have wins than the usual trading of one symbol (BA or XLF or CAT, etc.) directional trading with all the constant redic volatile algo spasms... Pairs be like: You have two guys in the woods who are being attacked by a bear and both realize they only have to outrun the other guy... Not just the bear. So you bet Long the Fast Runner... you bet Short the Slower Guy and you include a handicap if needed(Hedge ratio)... and... Bob's Your Uncle...
My favorite is the dow tick index, $TIKI. Learning about that one was a huge game changer for me. Pairs, fly's, and spreads are indispensable, IMO. Most traders don't even realize how influential they are. I can create a spread to do just about anything I want. Also, with how big the market is now, it's one of the most important skills to have. All the biggest trades are futures spread trades -- 2s/10s, NOB, BOB, and the index premiums. You compare to the outrights and you realize just how much bullshit price action there is! Retail getting stacked, flipped, crossed, and re-crossed all day long. The coolest one is the synthetic NQ which you can chart as 50*/ES - 5*/YM (this is a synthetic index - and one for which $TIKI can be used). Good trading to you.
