Apparently she thinks she should get special support from the government because (1) she plays basketball, and (2) she's black. I heard an interview with the judge in this guys case in NPR. She was saying he got a mandatory minimum she did not agree with. She was concerned about how much weapons he flew into Iraq for the US, like 1,000 shipments and that he was then set up. It’s a complex case actually. Not so cut and dry.
That may be and I don't begrudge the guy a fair trial or appeal or anyone else for that matter. Nevertheless, the government thinks/thought he was a high value arrest and prosecution so they are offering up a high value detainee for Miss Cannabis Oil.
