EU revolt: Growing number of Europeans 'impressed' by Brexit sparks Brussels panic
THE European Union will collapse within a decade, according to former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage, who pointed out how "impressed" many Europeans are with Britain's success outside of the EU.

The European Union will cease to exist within ten years, according to Nigel Farage. Speaking to Fox Business, the former Brexit Party leader said that Brexit's success will become a model for other European countries "impressed" by Britain's life outside of the EU. He said that many in Europe were looking on in jealousy after much of the EU scaremongering about Brexit failed to materialise.

Mr Farage said: "We are out, we are free, the deal may not be perfect but it's a lot better than it was before.

"There is now a 70 percent approval rating for Brexit now. And the rest of the Europe is looking at that too!

"Now they see Britain is doing well with Brexit, the overall European project itself, I don't believe this globalist project will even exist in ten years time."

This comes amid growing tension between Britain and the EU, with many insiders warning that "bitter" Brussels will try to punish UK for years to come.

Whitehall officials believe tensions will continue to crop up because Brussels is struggling to adjust to the fact it has a genuine competitor on its doorstep.

Sources say the EU has deliberately bandied around threats in rows over fishing rights and vaccines as the first port of call in the skirmishes.

Brexit minister Lord Frost has told colleagues not to rise to their bait when there are issues with the UK-EU trade agreement.

On Sunday's Andrew Marr Show, the new DUP leader Edwin Poots accused the European Union of treating Northern Ireland as a political "plaything".

He said: "This is the European Union seeking to punish the UK and, as a consequence, Northern Ireland is being used as a plaything.

"I can assure you, Northern Ireland should be nobody's plaything."

He urged the UK government to consider invoking Article 16 of the protocol, which allows either side to suspend any part of the agreement that causes "economic, societal or environmental difficulties".

EU bullies: No wonder 7-year Swiss negotiations ended in failure - vicious tactics exposed
THE EU has been accused of "bullying" Switzerland, after the Alpine nation abandoned seven years of negotiations towards a new trade deal.

Relations between Switzerland and Brussels are governed by more than 100 bilateral treaties. EU leaders had hoped to simplify this whilst further integrating Switzerland into their economic sphere.

However, Switzerland has now abandoned negotiations with Ignazio Cassis, the country’s foreign minister, saying its conditions were “not met”.

There was particular anger in Switzerland over EU demands for freedom of movement to include the non-employed.

This would entitle them to full access to the Swiss social security system.

David Bannerman, a former Tory MEP, accused Brussels of seeking to bully the Swiss on Twitter.

He commented: “If we think the EU is treating UK aggressively & unfairly, this is what it is doing to Switzerland. Same bullying pattern.

“No wonder the 7 years of negotiations between Switzerland and the EU have now led to failure.”

Mr Bannerman shared an article by Swiss Professor Carl Baudenbacher, former president of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) court, accusing Brussels of seeking to integrate Switzerland within the EU.

EFTA members, including Switzerland, participate in the European single market and accept freedom of movement.

However, they are not formally members of the European Union.

Writing for Brussels Report, Professor Baudenbacher accused the EU of seeking to subject Switzerland to the European Court of Justice (ECJ).

Describing the proposed deal he said: “In the event of a conflict the Commission should have the right to bring Switzerland unilaterally before the ECJ.

“The Commission would thus be Switzerland’s de facto surveillance authority.

Nigel Farage: Brexit-backing politician to quit as leader of Reform UK

Nigel Farage is to stand down as leader of Reform UK, the political party he launched in spring 2019 as the Brexit Party.

The 56-year-old told the Sunday Telegraph he intended to step back from party political activity and election campaigning.

But he added he wanted to "go on influencing the debate" through the media and social media.

He said chairman Richard Tice would take over the party.

In a letter to party supporters, he added that Mr Tice would now have to help the party "democratise itself and set up a national structure".

He said he would remain as the party's "honorary president," although he would "relinquish any executive power within the party".
