The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Tuesday that the U.S. southern border wall will be painted black under President Donald Trump’s direction.

Officials say the change is designed to make the wall hotter to the touch and harder to climb.

“Now, if you look at the structure that’s behind me, it’s tall, which makes it very, very difficult to climb, almost impossible. It also goes deep into the ground, which would make it very difficult, if not impossible, to dig under,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said during a press briefing in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.

“We are also going to be painting it black. That is specifically at the request of the president who understands that in the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black, it gets even warmer, and it will make it even harder for people to climb,” Noem added.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said the entire southern border wall will be painted black, so it will get hot in the sun and “make it even harder for people to climb.”

“One Big, Beautiful Bill” Funds Wall Upgrades

Noem said the repainting, along with new cameras, sensors, and monitoring technology, is being funded through the immigration enforcement package known as the One Big, Beautiful Bill.

The effort, she added, is meant to discourage illegal crossings and push migrants toward legal entry.

“We are going to be painting the entire southern border wall black to make sure that we encourage individuals to not come into our country illegally, to not break our federal laws, but that they will abide and come to our country the right way,” she said.

    Trump’s Earlier Ideas Revived

The black paint proposal reflects upgrades Trump had sought during his first term. In 2019, The Washington Post reported that Trump suggested painting the wall black to make it hotter to touch and even floated adding spikes as a deterrent.

  3. So, you are all for illegals to cross the border into our country?

You are a traitor and an embarrassment to the USA.

We don't need you or want you here.

Please leave this great country and move somewhere else, you commie.

I remember visiting a military base base in Southern California to spend a few days with a buddy in the Air Force while I was on leave heading up to Fort Lewis McChord for training after passing combat engineering class.

He said there's "hundreds" (that's plural) of underground tunnels from Mexico into the United States that law enforcement suspected was one of the main routes for cartel transporting drugs, human trafficking (both ways) at the southern border.

The United States still have not been able find most of them and still under finding 100 of them and closing them down. I find this odd considering we have mobile equipment (radar) that can easily search for underground tunnels and equipment that can pick up underground vibrations (shifts in soil).

All of that is on top of another primary route of "cargo transportation" in legitimate cargo. For example, when Trump was President in 2017...the cartels commonly used new Ford automobiles being built in Mexico and then shipped to the United States that even drug sniffer dogs couldn't pick up the scent.

The cartels also (still do) smuggle large amounts of drugs into the United States by way of electrical equipment, computers, medical devices, and mineral fuels like crude petroleum.

Simply, if stopping the flow of drugs is a priority...painting walls black will only slow down people crossing the wall during the daytime...it will not slow down the amount of drugs crossing the southern border especially with the appetite that Americans thirst for illegal drugs...American customers that the cartel are very glad to supply.

The United States has 129 million to 190 million Americans will use illegal drugs at least once in their lifetime because they have an appetite for what the cartels have to offer. That's an obscene number of Americans using illegal drugs for whatever reasons.

We have a +340 million population. That's an obscene number of Americans enjoying illegal drugs from the cartels. Thus, the real problem is Americans appetite for illegal drugs. :banghead:

In addition, there's the issue of illegal drugs coming in from Asia. They are even much better in transporting their illegal drugs into the United States than the Cartel. :(

In my opinion, using the U.S. military in Mexico to go after the Cartels will re-open an old door for the Cartel to use our military soldiers or threats against their families to bring illegal drugs into the United States or allow it to be transported on military equipment.
