I am interested in getting Bookmap to improve trading decisions. I use Tradestation with QQQ. I would like to look into trading Futures /NQ or /MNQ. Should I get Bookmap as a standalone?? It seems less expensive this way. And as I would be new to futures, this seems prudent. Does anyone use it as a standalone purchasing it already with a DXfeed?? Does anyone use it with Tradestation?? What do they think?? Any comments would be appreciated.
All the explanations given below is legit, but the problem is they're all hindsight analysis. Also I ain't so sure whether the size of the bubbles accurately paints the order flow. Moreover, you could technically get the same thing using DOM, volume profile, or even footprint chart. Anyway, can you profitably trade this thing in real time? Maybe.
DOM moves so darn fast for me. Plus, it did seem really nice to see the time and sales as it hits the passive orders....and it does show these passive future limit orders, at least unless they get pulled, which is also helpful to see.
I think Quantower offers similar features and you can get that platform for free with an account with AMP.
Whoa. Just went to look at this. Pretty darn similar, at least the all the specific information I was hoping to glean from Bookmap. I really appreciate you pointing me in the direction. Do you happen to use Quantower yourself?? If so, do you find it helpful?
I would use it in conjuction to another chart. Yes, it would be difficult to trade off of this only. But I have another account I use.
i really like multicharts with cqg and or rithmic. there is much out there as it shares code with tradestation. you can get the .net version of multicharts and do anything you want. except maybe auto-trade they fail at that.
